This workshop will introduce attendees to a broad overview of substance use disorders (SUD). We will explore traditional approaches to SUD treatment and advances over the past 20 years. We will wrap up with a discussion about the role of chaplaincy in this evolving field.
Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the basic principles of Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
2. Name 4 primary components of evidence-based approaches to SUD treatment
3. Name 3 ways that chaplains can be an essential component of SUD treatment
