Details: The purpose of The Verbatim: The Story of Spiritual Care is to explore the verbatim report as an educational tool that promotes clinical-level spiritual care skills,
- fosters professional identity, and defines professional role. The workshop includes:
- identifying a curriculum of clinical-level, spiritual care skills;
- defining the key indicator for recognizing a learning event within the verbatim report;
- guidance for prioritizing material within the verbatim report;
- defining key questions that move clinical material to a learning event.
The workshop demonstrates how the verbatim supports clinical-level learning and enables spiritual caregivers to achieve their learning goals.
Learning Objectives:
1. Define the 2 most important questions a patient needs answered for a successful spiritual care visit

Consolidating all the elements of CPE or SEC courses in preparation for a meeting with a Certification Committee is the focus of this workshop. This workshop will be beneficial for CPE students and SEC Candidates planning to pursue Board Certification, as well as Supervisor Educators and Training-Supervisors preparing their students for meetings with certification committees. Additionally, this workshop will emphasize the critical role of Certification Committee members in the process and how to interpret the rubrics required to meet certification standards. This interactive workshop will be participatory and designed to provide practical takeaways for every participant.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the evaluation rubric used in the certification process.
Understand how to be prepared and/or help others prepare for meeting with certification committee.
Explore key themes of chaplaincy and how to develop and present those themes in the certification process.

Harrison Assessments (HATS) is a time-saving tool that provides a shared vocabulary and promotes greater understanding for effective CPE supervision. HATS Paradox Reports provide useful data for student interviews, learning goal setting, individual supervision, measuring progress, and understanding group dynamics in CPE. This workshop will explain Dan Harrison's Paradox Theory and illustrate how Paradox Theory is applied via HATS to help students accomplish CPE objectives.
