Cadres: Introducing Small Groups to the CPEI Community

Clinical chaplains and pastoral counselors can significantly benefit from belonging to a small group of clinicians for sharing case studies, discussing their work, and networking in several ways. In this workshop, we will explore topics such as professional development, emotional and peer support, networking and career advancement, ethical and practical support, and more.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will understand the importance of collaborating with peers in clinical chaplaincy and pastoral counseling.
2. Participants will learn how to use small group discussions to enhance their professional skills and knowledge.
3. Participants will recognize the role of small groups in providing emotional support and fostering resilience.
4. Participants will explore strategies for sharing resources and tools within a small group setting.

Harrison Paradox Theory Applications for CPE

Harrison Assessments (HATS) is a time-saving tool that provides a shared vocabulary and promotes greater understanding for effective CPE supervision. HATS Paradox Reports provide useful data for student interviews, learning goal setting, individual supervision, measuring progress, and understanding group dynamics in CPE. This workshop will explain Dan Harrison's Paradox Theory and illustrate how Paradox Theory is applied via HATS to help students accomplish CPE objectives.
Learning Objectives:
The learning objectives of the workshop are to explain Dan Harrison's Paradox theory and demonstrate applications of the theory useful to CPE educators.
